A friendly smile, a caring hello, and a bright pink car is how you can easily pick out Brielle from a crowd. As a 4th year Exercise Science and Training student as well as a Dean’s List Scholar since her 1st year, she has not solely devoted her time to academics. Many know Brielle through the Acadia S.M.I.L.E program as an avid volunteer and researcher. Working alongside Dr. Emily Bremer, she has conducted her honours research by exploring the impact of the Acadia S.M.I.L.E program on participant physical fitness, while also dedicating her Saturday mornings to her buddy.
Aside from S.M.I.L.E, Brielle has also been a friendly face for Acadia Cardiac Maintenance, Acadia Active Aging, Kinderskills, and the Active for Life program at Acadia. Having enjoyed her time getting to work closely with different populations, she is grateful for making connections with the community members, whom she still plans coffee outings with. Throughout her degree, she has also worked part time at the 14 Wing Fitness and Sport Centre for PSP while also being a TA for Human Biology 1 and 2, Human Physiology 1 and 2, Exercise Physiology, Sports History, and the Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2 courses for the 1st year nursing students since the program started.
Even with her busy schedule, Brielle makes time for the things that are important to her, like spending time with friends and playing the cello in the Acadia String Ensemble. Always being ready and willing to help others, Brielle’s positivity shines through, which is why she would be a very deserving SOTM!!
Congratulations Brielle!
