 Community Service

  • Dr. Chris Shields has been invited to serve as a member of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia’s Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC)
  • Volunteered to be part of the CIHR Synapse program which brings together young Canadians with Canadian health researchers
  • Involved in a working group to combat paediatric obesity in the Annapolis Valley
  • Served on the New Minas Recreation Advisory Committee

  • Since 2008, Chris' honours students research has been presented at conferences in Montreal, Seattle, Toronto, Fredericton, and Dublin, Ireland!.
  • Chris has received the Research Excellence Award (2009) and the Outstanding Project Award (2008) from the Faculty of Professional Studies.
  • Chris received the Outstanding Dissertation Award (2006) from the Society of Behavioral Medicine.
